I’d like to talk to you about the phrase epic fail. People use it all the time, they’re like, “Ah my car didn’t start and I didn’t get to work - Epic fail.”

That’s not an epic, there’s nothing epic about that. That failure is the complete opposite of epic. It’s everyday.

An epic failure would be if there were an evil god like creature headed towards teh earth an alien armada and a giant asteroid and I went out into my yard and took all the scrap material and built a spaceship and launched myself into space and blew up the alien armada. Then took on the godlike creature that was going to destroy the earth with my mental powers and while I was standing up there feeling fantastic about how I saved the earth - the asteroid that I forgot slams into the earth and everyone dies. See that’s - an Epic failure. It involved an epic set of circumstances and a failure equivalent to that epic set of circumstances. See, that’s an epic failure.

So the next time your car doesn’t work or you fail a class or lose at a video game. Don’t just - don’t - just don’t claim that it’s epic failure - No - never
